St. Nikolai Church was built in the 1400s and is named after the patron saint of seafarers. It is one of the few buildings in Halmstad that partially survived the great city fire of 1619, although the tower and roof were destroyed.
When visiting, take time to notice the many historical details: the baptismal font and the staircase in the bell tower from the 1400s, the tombstones from the 1300s, and the beautifully crafted pulpit from the 1600s.
The church also hosts concerts throughout the year, attracting both locals and visitors who come to enjoy music in this atmospheric setting filled with history and soul.
